Gilberto Aceves Navarro

Gilberto Aceves Navarro (* September 24, 1931 in Mexico City) is a Mexican painter.

Biography

Aceves studied from 1950 at the ENPEG " La Esmeralda" under Enrique Assad, Ignacio Aguirre and Carlos Orozco Romero. Together with David Alfaro Siqueiros in 1952, he worked in the meantime to the wall paintings of the Rector of the National Autonomous University of storm de México, and came again in 1953 in the " La Esmeralda " and studied graphic, along with the future head of the school Isidoro Ocampo.

From 1957 to 1961 he lectured at the Institute of Mexican- North American Cultural Exchange in Los Angeles. Since 1971 he teaches at the products resulting from the Academia de San Carlos National Sculpture School Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas the UNAM, and since 1998 also in the training workshop in the city of Colonia Roma, a settlement in Mexico City. He is a member of the Academia de Artes.

Aceves taken part in many national and international exhibitions and biennials. At the Biennale in Cannes, he received an honorable mention and was also honored by the UNAM with a price.
