Goodbye to the Age of Steam is the first studio album by the English progressive rock band Big Big Train. The CD was released on 31 May 1994.

Content

The songs on Goodbye to the Age of Steam act of everyday wire acts and partial crashes. The album title has no relation to the songs, but conveys the mood of the pieces.

Style

Musically BBT show at the time of their debut album, both influenced by typical neo- prog bands like IQ, Jadis, Galahad, and eg by Steve Hackett. A unique style can be imagined, but not yet settled. The album received moderate to good reviews, often to the thin singing was criticized.

Re-Release

In 2011 Goodbye to the Age of Steam re-released on the band's own label English Electric Recordings. The partially disappeared Keyboard tapes had to be re-recorded it. Even the album cover was redesigned by Jim Trainer, since the original Kev Thompson was lost. Three bonus tracks complement the original songs, including a new composition.
