Goran Prpić

Goran Prpić ( born May 4, 1964 in Zagreb ) is a former Croatian tennis player.

Life

Prpić in 1980 of Yugoslav youth champion. He was a professional tennis player in 1984 and won two tournaments of the ATP Satellite series and thus gain their first world ranking points in the same year. The following year, he stood in the semi-finals of the Challenger tournament in Marrakech, he also reached the quarter -finals of the ATP tournaments of Bologna, Båstad and Palermo. During a match against Aaron Krickstein at the Miami Masters in February 1986, he suffered a serious knee injury, and he was sidelined for nearly two years. During this time, a continuation of his professional career was highly uncertain, so he enrolled at the University of Zagreb as a student of economics. In 1988 he joined again, where he always carried an extensive knee bandage.

After his comeback, he stood at the side of Rolf Hertzog in the doubles final of the Challenger Tournaments of Munich and Münster. The following year, he reached the final of the ATP tournament in Stuttgart, but lost Martín Jaite. He also won the Challenger tournament in Agadir. In 1990 he celebrated after a victory over Goran Ivanisevic final in Umag his only individual title on the ATP World Tour. In the same year he won in Sanremo on the side of Mihnea Nastase ion his only ATP doubles titles.
