Goux-lès-Dambelin

Goux -les- Dambelin is a commune in the French department Doubs in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Goux -les- Dambelin is located on 540 m, about 16 km southwest of the town of Montbéliard (air line). The village is located in the northern French Jura, on a blackboard jurassic -like plateau north and south of the Lomont Doubstals.

The area of ​​8.90 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the French Jura. The main part of the area occupied by the high surface area of ​​Goux lying on average 540 m. With 581 m is reached on a hill south of the village is the highest elevation of Goux -les- Dambelin. The plateau is mainly consisted of arable and meadow land. To the west the plateau drops down to the valley basin of Hyémondans, the boundary runs mostly above -winning rock band with a steep slope. In the south it is bounded by a steep wooded slope towards the valley of the Ranceuse. In contrast, the plateau to the north decreases only slowly, being divided here by several Erosionstälchen that belong to the catchment area of ​​the Ruisseau du Bié. The plateau has no above-ground rivers, because the rainwater seeps into the ground and in the surrounding valleys with different sources occurs again evident at the foot of the slope. After East passes over a ridge between the catchment areas of Ruisseau du Bié and Ranceuse to the high area of ​​the Grands Bois.

Neighboring communities of Goux -les- Dambelin are Saint-Maurice- Colombier and Villars -sous- Écot in the north, Rémondans -Vaivre in the east, the south and Dambelin Hyémondans and Sourans in the West.

History

Several findings indicate that the municipality of Goux was already inhabited in prehistoric times. Together with the Franche -Comté reached the village with the Peace of Nijmegen in 1678 to France. To avoid confusion with other communities of the same name, Goux was officially renamed in 1961 in Goux -les- Dambelin.

Attractions

The Chapel of Goux was raised in the 17th century parish church. After 1770 the bell tower had collapsed, the church was extensively rebuilt in the classical style. It has a remarkable altar.

Population

With 275 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) Goux -les- Dambelin one of the small communities of the department of Doubs. After the population had decreased significantly in the first half of the 20th century (1886 322 persons were still counted ), a continuous population growth was recorded since the early 1980s again.

Economy and infrastructure

Goux -les- Dambelin was until well into the 20th century a predominantly by agriculture (crops, orchards and livestock ) and forestry embossed village. In addition, there are today some of the local small business enterprises. Meanwhile, the village has also changed into a residential community. Many workers are therefore commuters who do their work in the larger towns in the area and agglomeration in Montbéliard.

The village is located off the major thoroughfares on a secondary road that leads from Saint- Maurice- Colombier after Dambelin. The nearest links to the A36 motorway is located at a distance of about 13 km. Further road links exist with Sourans and Villars -sous- Écot.
