Grant Stevenson

Grant Stevenson (* October 15, 1981 in Spruce Grove, Alberta ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player. In the 2010/11 season he played for the Augsburger Panther in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga. Stevenson he is the grandson of Hockey Hall -of- Fame member Glenn Hall.

Career

After Stevenson had first played for junior teams in his hometown, he began in 1999 a commitment in the Alberta Junior Hockey League for the Bonnyville Pontiacs. There he was appointed team internally to Rookie of the Year at the end of the season. The following season he moved to the Grand Prairie Storm, who also played in the AJHL. In his second AJHL season he improved his offensive statistics and participated in the All-Star Game in the league.

After his time in Alberta Stevenson began at the Minnesota State University, Mankato to play. After a good first season, he advanced in his second year of college and was a top performer at the end of the year nationwide, the player with the most points, who was in his second year of college. Stevenson broke then, in 2003, his studies because he had signed a professional contract with the San Jose Sharks in April of the same year.

The San Jose Sharks Stevenson was 05 initially used for the seasons 2003/ 04 and 2004 / unterklassigen in the American Hockey League with the Cleveland Barons. In his first season there, he impressed especially in the playoffs, where he was able to record seven assists in nine games. After a poor start to the 2004/ 05 season of Canadians was sent for two games in the ECHL, but could end up in the AHL season but confirm his stats from last year. The following summer, Stevenson worked hard on and started with 16 points in 17 games in the new season before the first appointed him the Sharks on 23 November 2005 in the NHL squad. Overall, he collected in 47 season inserts 22 points and was also in five playoff games on the ice.

For the season 2006/ 07 Stevenson played back in the AHL with the Worcester Sharks, the new farm team of San Jose, and moved to discharge his contract as a free agent with the Calgary Flames, which is also in the farm team, the Quad City Flames use it. Also in the rest of the season to Stevenson could not recommend it for the NHL squad of Flames, whereby its one-year contract was not renewed. He then wrote a contract with the Atlanta Thrashers, which it also in their farm team, the Chicago Wolves sent.

For the 2009/10 season Grant Stevenson moved to the Kloten Flyers, where he occupied one of the five foreigners licenses. However, it did not meet expectations, so that it was shortly after the beginning of the season replaced by Mark Bell. By November 2009, Stevenson was without a club before he was hired by the Hamilton Bulldogs. There he remained, however, only a year before he moved to the Augsburger Panther in the German Hockey League.
