The station is served by trains of the company Southeastern, which run from Charing Cross and London Bridge in the direction of Dartford. East of the station, the Greenwich Line runs through a 900 meter long tunnel that passes under the grounds of the National Maritime Museum and leads to the nearest station Maze Hill.

The Docklands Light Railway reached the station also through a tunnel. This begins on the Isle of Dogs, passes under the Thames, followed by the Greenwich High Road and occurs after passing under the railway station premises to the surface again. The DLR station is located west of the platforms of the railroad. Immediately thereafter begins a viaduct, which follows the river Ravensbourne to the terminus Lewisham.

History

Greenwich Train Station is one of the oldest in London, the London and Greenwich Railway even considered the oldest suburban railway in the world at all. By means of a massive brick viaduct with arches 878 Greenwich was connected to London. As of February 8, 1836 the route led first by the Spa Road in Bermondsey to Deptford. Just ten months later, on December 14, 1836, it was extended to London Bridge Station. On April 12, 1840, the railroad finally reached Greenwich. The then built station building still stands today and is one of the oldest surviving world.

The railway company could not agree with the Greenwich Hospital over the course of the further distance, so Greenwich more than forty years terminus remained. The trains therefore had to make a detour via Lewisham. The tunnel was opened after Maze Hill until February 1, 1878. The opening of the DLR route between Crossharbour and Lewisham on November 20, 1999.
