Cutty Sark for Maritime Greenwich DLR station

Cutty Sark is a station on the Docklands Light Railway (DLR ) in the London borough of Royal Borough of Greenwich. It lies on the boundary of Travelcard Zone 2 and 3, at the intersection of Greenwich Church Street and Creek Road in Greenwich district. She is one of three underground stations of DLR.

Is named the station after the Cutty Sark, which is right next door in a dry dock. Within easy walking distance are numerous famous sights including Greenwich Park, the Queen's House, National Maritime Museum and the historic town center of Greenwich. A free alternative to go over to get to the Isle of Dogs, the Greenwich Foot Tunnel opened in 1902.

History

The operation on the route between Crossharbour and Lewisham had been received on 20 November 1999. The works, however, were returned partially behind schedule. For this reason, the station Cutty Sark was only two weeks later, on 3 December 1999 opened.

The capacity of the link between Bank and Lewisham has increased between 2007 and 2009, so that trains can operate with three cars. For cost reasons and out of consideration to neighboring historic building was abandoned on the extension of the station Cutty Sark. For this reason, the rearmost and foremost the train door will remain closed.
