Greg Amadio

Greg Amadio (born 13 May 1981 in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player who was most recently with the Springfield Falcons in the American Hockey League contract.

Career

Greg Amadio began his career as a hockey player at Michigan Tech, which he attended from 1999 to 2003, while he was active in parallel for their hockey team in the National Collegiate Athletic Association. Towards the end of the 2002/ 03 gave the defender made ​​his debut in professional hockey for the Memphis RiverKings of the Central Hockey League. In 14 games, he remained no points and received 24 penalty minutes. In summer 2003, he signed a contract with Columbia Inferno, for whom he played in the following one and a half years in the ECHL. During this period he also completed a game for the Manitoba Moose in the American Hockey League. He then spent one and a half years also in the AHL with the Grand Rapids Griffins.

The 2006/07 season began Amadio at the Iowa Stars of the AHL, but moved after only 14 games in the league to the Portland Pirates, where he in 44 games eight scorer points, including three goals by the end of the season. After a year at the Binghamton Senators, the Canadian has been committed by the Hershey Bears, with whom he was the Calder Cup each win 2009 and 2010. Following this success, he returned to the 2010/11 season to his former club Grand Rapids Griffins back.

19 January 2012 it transferred the Griffins in the American Hockey League in exchange for Mike Thomas to the Springfield Falcons. After the end of the season 2012/13 the Canadians ended his active career.
