The Gulf Developmental Road is a trunk road in the tropical north of Queensland, Australia. It extends in an east-west direction and has a length of about 445 kilometers. The Gulf Developmental Road is along its entire length part of the National Highway 1 and the Savannah Way.

Course

The Gulf Developmental Road begins south of Forty Mile Scrub National Park. It branches at the junction of the Kennedy Highway to the Kennedy Developmental Road in a westerly direction.

The track is a one-lane paved road. It leads mostly through flat bush land, is characterized by dry grass and termite mounds. Along the way there are numerous branches to scattered farms in the outback. Larger towns along the Gulf Developmental Road include Mount Surprise, Georgetown and Croydon. In Georgetown meets in the southeast of Charters Towers Coming to Croydon Georgetown Road, continuation of the Gregory Developmental Road, on the Gulf Developmental Road.

The end of the Gulf Developmental Road is located south of Normanton on the Gulf of Carpentaria. Here she meets the Burke Developmental Road which continues coming from Cloncurry in the south to the north. A few kilometers north, ahead of Normanton, branches off the Great Top Road as a continuation of the road to Burketown and on into the Northern Territory towards west.
