Güvenç Kurtar

Güvenç Kurtar ( born July 25, 1950 in Usak ) is a former Turkish football player and current coach.

Playing career

Kurtar began with the professional football in the youth of Beşiktaş Istanbul and became the 1970/71 season included in the senior squad. In his first season for the pros, he completed only one game in TSYD Kupası. In his second season, he came as a reserve player to 15 inserts League.

In the summer of 1971, he moved to first division club Mersin İdman Yurdu here and was able to win right away. The playing time he finished twelve goals in 24 league matches. For the upcoming season, he moved within the league to Bursaspor. Here he played regularly in the first season. In his second season he was rather on the bench and came on only eight league games.

So he left in the summer of 1974, Bursaspor and changed within the league to Altay Izmir. Again, the jump in the starting lineup not he succeeded. But he remained for three seasons at Altay.

For the season 1977/78 he moved to second division Kocaelispor. In this club he succeeded at first breakthrough. He listed a number of years of the most successful strikers in the second highest Turkish league, today TFF 1 Lig In the season 1979/80 he was with Kocaelispor Master of TFF 1 Lig and rose to the Süper Lig. Kurtar was this season top scorer of the first Lig and had in the rise of large proportion.

After he left for the summer of 1982 Kocaelispor, he played one season at Düzcespor and finished in the summer of 1983 his active professional footballer career.

Coaching career

Following his playing career, he moved into coaching and professional activity in 1990 was the first head coach at Darıca Gençlerbirliği. He then took over the coaching job at second division Kocaelispor. In the 1991/92 season he achieved with this club as a coach the championship of the TFF 1 Lig and thus the direct promotion to the Süper Lig in the following Erstligasaison, the season 1992/93 he made with Kocaelispor a sensation. His team played an outstanding first round and was a complete surprise league leaders. The second half was not as successful, yet they finished the season off on the fourth place and thus qualified for the UEFA Cup. He was responsible for another half season Kocaelispor and left in the winter of 1993 the club.

The following year he coached a variety of first and second- division club. In the summer of 2012 he took over the second division Adana Demirspor. A few days before the start of the second division season 2012/13 he announced his resignation.
