Haakon, Crown Prince of Norway, Haakon Magnus of Norway full name, (born 20 July 1973 in Oslo ) is a member of the House of Schleswig -Holstein -Sonderburg- Glücksburg, a branch line of the House of Oldenburg. He is the current heir to the throne of Norway and is married to Crown Princess Mette- Marit.

Life

Haakon is the son of King Harald V of Norway and Queen Sonja and was baptized on 20 September 1973 by Oslo Bishop damaligem Kåre Støylen in the Oslo chapel. He attended a school in 1980 Smestad. From 1992 he attended the sixth form of the Christian school ( Kristelig Gymnasium) in Oslo, where he earned a university entrance. His military service completed, the Crown Prince at the Norwegian Navy. From 1996 he studied political science in the United States at the University of California at Berkeley, where he obtained his Bachelor. From 1999, he studied law at the University of Oslo. After his marriage to Mette- Marit Tjessem Høiby on 25 August 2001 in Oslo Cathedral he lived from 2002 to 2003 in London, where he obtained his master's degree in international politics.

Crown Prince Haakon and his family live on the royal estate Skaugum in Asker, a rural suburb of Oslo, where he had spent his childhood.

Since 2003, the Crown Prince hired as a Goodwill Ambassador within the United Nations Development Programme. In this capacity he traveled to Tanzania, Cambodia, Sierra Leone and Guatemala.

As a great-grandson of Edward VII, he stands at 73 instead of the throne in the United Kingdom (August 2013).

Children

Mette- Marit 's son Marius Borg brought Høiby (born 13 January 1997) from a previous relationship with Morten Borg into the marriage. The royal couple has two children together:

Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway ( born January 21, 2004 in Oslo) was baptized on April 17, 2004 in Oslo. Your godparents are King Harald V of Norway, Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark, Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden, Crown Prince Felipe of Spain, Princess Märtha Louise of Norway and her grandmother Marit Tjessem. She takes after her father in second place in the Norwegian throne

Prince Sverre Magnus of Norway ( born December 3, 2005 in Oslo) was baptized on 4 March 2006 in Oslo. His godparents are Queen Sonja of Norway, Queen Maxima of the Netherlands, Crown Prince Paul of Greece, Princess Rosario of Bulgaria, Espen Høiby, Björn Stensland and Marianne Gjellestad. Unlike his sister Sverre Magnus does not carry the title " Royal Highness ", but is to address only as " Prince". He is, however, according to his father and his sister on the third place in the Norwegian throne. In the British throne, he is ranked 74, and is there in front of his sister.
