Hans Hammond Rossbach

Hans Hammond Rossbach (born 16 October 1931 in Kristiansund, Møre og Romsdal Fylke; † 7 August 2012) was a Norwegian politician of the left-liberal Venstre, the twenty-year member of the Storting and between 1969 and 1972 was its vice-president. In addition, he was from 1976 to 1982 chairman of Venstre.

Life

After Rossbach had the public high school ( Offentlige Høyere Allmennskole ) in Kristiansund 1950 concluded with a degree in English, he graduated from 1951-1952 his military service in the Brigade 521 of the Military Police. Subsequently, he was from 1952 to 1958 an employee of the Savings Bank in Kristiansund and attended besides a Master in Taxation at the Otto Treider trade school, where he graduated in 1956 with an exam. In 1957, he was as cand oec. Teacher at the vocational school of Kristiansund, before he was 1958-1959 Secretary for territory planning in Møre og Romsdal and then to 1960 editor of the business magazine and secretary of the Central Statistical Office ( Statistisk Sentralbyrå ). After subsequent visit to an educational seminar, he worked 1960-1995 as a lecturer at the School of Kristiansund.

During this time he became involved in local politics and was 1963-1967 both a member of the municipal council of Kristiansund as well as a member of the Provincial Assembly ( Fylkesting ) of Møre og Romsdal. In the elections of September 13, 1965 Rossbach was first elected a deputy of the Storting and represented in this for twenty years until 1985 various constituencies in Fylke Møre og Romsdal. During his long parliamentary affiliation he was a member of various committees such as Finance and Customs, Municipal and Environment, protocol, marine and fisheries, industry, and Foreign Affairs and the Constitution and was also also delegate to the General Assembly of the United Nations. On 8 October 1969, he was Vice President of the Storting and held that office until October 1, 1972.
