Haringsee

Haringsee is a municipality with 1153 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the March field in Lower Austria.

Geography

In each case, 20 km are located north Gaenserndorf, east Marchegg, south and west of Hainburg Vienna.

The municipality comprises the three villages (in brackets population as of 31 October 2011):

  • Fuchsenbigl ( 350)
  • Haringsee ( 655)
  • Straudorf (176 )

The municipality comprises the cadastral Fuchsenbigl, Haringsee and Straudorf.

History

In 1150 Haringsee was, at that time Horgwense, first mentioned in records. 1970 joined the community with the communities Fuchsenbigl and Straudorf voluntarily to a large village named Haringsee together.

Population Development

According to the results of the 2001 census, there were 1133 inhabitants. In 1991, the municipality had 1074 inhabitants in 1981 and 997 in 1971, 1032 inhabitants.

Policy

Mayor of the municipality is novel Sigmund.

In the council, there are a total of 19 seats after the municipal elections of 14 March 2010, the following distribution of seats: 13 ÖVP, SPÖ 6, no other seats.
