Hasvik

Hasvik ( Sami Ákŋoluovtta gielda ) is a commune in the Norwegian province (county ) Finnmark. It lies on the western half of Sørøya, Norway's third largest island. The administrative center of the municipality is located in Breivikbotn.

Most residents spread over villages on the west coast of the island.

In the immediate vicinity of the village in the extreme southwest of the island is the village Hasvik Hasvik airport. At the Norwegian mainland Hasvik is also connected with a car ferry to Øksfjord. The crossing takes around two hours.

With the decline of the fishing industry, the municipality is affected in recent years by a steady population decline.
