Havant

Havant is a town and an administrative district with the status of a borough in the county of Hampshire in England. The city lies between Portsmouth and Chichester the Langstone Harbour. This bay forms a part of the English Channel, but is almost completely separated from it by the Hayling Island. Also, the district is one of the place Waterlooville.

History

Parts of the city center of Havant date from the time of the Romans. The first mention of "Have Hunte " took place in 1086 in the Domesday Book. The Church of St. Faith exists at least since 1150 In 1760 Havant burned almost completely down. ; only the church and one as " Old House at Home" designated group of houses remained.

Until after the Second World War Havant was a rather small, peaceful town. But then began a rapid growth and the core city grew along with the neighboring villages of Langstone, Brockhampton, Bedhampton, Leigh Park, Denvilles and Warblington.
