Rushmoor

Rushmoor is a local government district with the status of a borough in the county of Hampshire in England. The district includes the towns of Aldershot and Farnborough. It was formed on 1 April 1974 and evolved from the merger of the urban districts Aldershot and Farnborough.

The population Rushmoors has risen in the last two centuries of 1,366 people in 1801, over 39 616 people in 1901 to over 90,000 people in 2001. Rushmoor is in town twinning with the cities of Oberursel ( Taunus) in Germany, Meudon in France and Sulechów in Poland.

Council elections ( elections to the council) found in four years instead of three times, with one third of the seats will be elected in the Council. Since 1973, either the Conservatives or no party had an absolute majority. Since the election in 2000 the Conservatives had an absolute majority. The last election in 2010 resulted in the following distribution of seats: 30 seats for the Conservatives, 6 for the Liberal Democrats, and 6 for the Labour Party.
