Heilsau

BW

The Heilsau is a creek in Schleswig -Holstein. Until the 12th century, the Heilsau was still called Cuserin -Bach. The present name is derived from the place Heilshoop.

Course

The Heilsau rises south of Dakendorf in Ostholstein. In Mönkhagen it reaches the Stormarn to open south of Reinfeld in the Travelodge. In Reinsfelder urban area it is dammed by monks of the former monastery Reinfeld since the Middle Ages to Mr. Pond. The Lord pond has a size of almost 70 hectares and is not entirely within the city limits. The underflow, also called Mühlenau, is a spawning area of sea trout.

Inflows

The only concern is the influx of Reinsbek. There are also smaller outflows from source ponds.
