Heinrich Karl Strohm

Heinrich Karl Strohm ( born February 4, 1895 in Elberfeld, † June 9, 1959 in Cologne ) was a German film director and theater and opera director.

Life

First, the theater operates in Kiel as a director, he was Head of the Bavarian State Theatre, a touring theater company. From 1925 to 1927 he headed the Würzburg city theater, then to 1933 the Stadttheater Aachen. During his time at the Directorate Hamburg Opera (1933 - 1940) he developed the critically acclaimed hamburger style, which he wanted to achieve a completely harmonious work of all the artists involved. In 1937 he applied to join the Nazi Party. During the 5th Empire Theatre Festival he performed with his house in Vienna, where he became the successor of Erwin Kerber to general manager - as the name at that time - the Vienna State Opera ordered. His term lasted for a serious disease only from September 1, 1940 to January 31, 1941. Upon his recovery, he again worked as a director, he has directed in December 1942 in Rome, the opera Der Rosenkavalier. After 1945 Strohm was a member of the board of the German Theatre Association.
