Herbert Baddeley

Herbert Baddeley ( born January 11, 1872 in London, England; † July 20, 1931 in Cannes, France ) was an English tennis and badminton players.

Career

Baddeley, the younger twin brother of Wilfred Baddeley and son a solicitor, was born in 1872 in the London Borough of Bromley. From 1887 to 1897 he took up at tennis tournaments. Together with his brother Wilfred, he formed the most successful double -1890s. Only the doubles competition at Wimbledon could both win this time four times. In individual Herbert could advance to the semifinals in 1895, but there was his brother Herbert, a walkover, which then won the title. The following year, he lost in the semifinals Wilberforce Eaves.

His daughter Violet Baddeley was also a successful badminton player.

He died in 1931, two years after his brother, at the age of 59 years in Cannes, France.
