Herman Glass

Herman Theobald Glass ( * October 15, 1880 in Los Angeles, † January 13, 1961 ) was an American gymnast.

Glass took the Richmond YMCA at the Olympic Games 1904 in St. Louis, where he won the gold medal on the rings. He had started in 1896 in Chicago on the advice of a physician with the gymnastics and led the sport even further after his family a few years later moved to Los Angeles. Glass moved in 1903 to Richmond and injured himself shortly afterwards by the hand, so he was forced all other sports to end up on the rings. Full-time Glass worked as a bookbinder.
