Herzegovina-Neretva Canton
The Herzegovina-Neretva Canton ( kroat. Hercegovačko - Neretva Županija, bosn. Hercegovačko - neretvanski Canton ) is one of the ten cantons of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The name derives from the River Neretva and the area of Herzegovina, in the Canton of lies. Council is based in Mostar.
The canton is located in the southwest of the country and has an area of 4401.0 km ².
Population
The Herzegovina-Neretva Canton has about 236,000 inhabitants (2013 ) and has been inhabited relatively thin with about 54 inhabitants per square kilometer.
Herzegovina -Neretva is one of two former cantons with a special status, in which the Croatian and Bosniak the population are approximately equal.
