Higashiōsaka, Osaka

HigashiOsaka (Japanese东 大阪 市, -shi, literally: East Osaka ) is a city just east of Osaka in Osaka Prefecture on the main island Honshu of Japan.

Geography

By HigashiOsaka flow the waters Onii -gawa, Nagase -gawa, and the Daini - Neyagawa.

History

The city was (枚 冈 市, -shi) formed on February 1, 1967 by merging the cities Fuse (布施 市, -shi), Hiraoka and Kawachi (河内 市, -shi).

Economy

Importance are mainly trade and industry ( Fuse ), as well as textile industry and electrical equipment manufacturing ( Kawachi ) and Mechanical Engineering ( Hiraoka ).

Attractions

In HigashiOsaka is the Hiraoka Shrine.

Twin Cities

On August 12 1959 Fuse was the sister city of the old Berlin district of Wedding, which went up in the new district in mid-2001.

Hiraoka was on 23 September 1960, the sister city of Glendale ( California).
