Hildegunn Mikkelsplass

Hildegunn Fossen - Mikkel Plass (also Hildegunn Fossen and Hildegunn Mikkel Plass, born April 16, 1969 in Sigdal ) is a former Norwegian biathlete.

Hildegunn Fossen was a student during their active time and lives in Nesbyen. The athlete from Simostranda Idrettslag was one of the most successful Norwegian biathletes in the 1990s. She was already at the Biathlon World Championships 1991 in Lahti, together with Synnøve Thoresen, Signe Trosten and Unni Kristiansen winner of bronze medal in the team competition. At the 1992 Winter Olympic Games in Albertville Fossen ran with Trosten and Elin Kristiansen in the Norwegian relay to seventh place. To kick off the 1992/93 season Fossen was in eighth in a single Pokljuka first time at a place in the top ten. Other top ten finishes followed in the season. In the Biathlon World Championships 1993 in Borovets, they came with the season in ninth place. At the start of the following season, the Norwegian ran in Bad Gastein in the sprint to second place. By growing were the results at the Olympic Games in 1994 in Lillehammer. Other good results but no medal brought the Biathlon World Championships 1996 in Ruhpolding 18th in singles, sixth in the sprint and fourth in the relay.
