Hilmar Örn Hilmarsson

Hilmar Örn Hilmarsson (short: HOH, born April 23, 1958 in Reykjavík, Iceland ) is an Icelandic musician who composes mainly film music, and at the same Allsherjargoði the pagan faith community Ásatrúarfélagið.

Biography

He has received several international awards for his film music, among other things, the 1991 European Film Award for the music for the film Children of Nature - A Journey. Besides, he also released several albums with Psychic TV, Current 93 and Sigur Rós. With the singer of the Sugarcubes, Einar Örn he published in 1993 an album under the name Frostbite. In 1998, he took with Einar Örn and Siggi Baldursson ( also from The Sugarcubes ) an album under the name Grindverk on.

Since 2003 Hilmar Örn Hilmarsson high - Gode is ( Allsherjargoði ) of the Icelandic Ásatrúarfélagið, a recognized religious community in Iceland, who practiced the religion of the Germanic gods faith.

For the film Beowulf & Grendel in music, he was nominated for a Genie Award in 2007.
