Holger Juul Hansen
Holger Juul Hansen ( born August 14, 1924 in Nyborg, † March 19, 2013 ) was a Danish actor.
Life
Holger Juul Hansen graduated first from 1939 to 1946 a commercial apprenticeship in Copenhagen. He took lessons from Eyvind Johan - Svendsen and received thereafter from 1946 to 1948 his acting training. He made his debut at the New Theatre. After initial exposure to Aalborg ( 1948-1951 ) and Odense ( 1951-1953 ), he returned in 1953 back to Copenhagen, where he played from 1953 to 1956 at the Allé video scenes. After several short exposures among others at Folketeatret and at Frederiksberg Teater he was engaged from 1957 to 1959 at the New Theatre. Subsequently, he was more than 25 years, from 1961 to 1987, the ensemble of the Royal Theatre - interrupted only by a season 1976/77 on Aveny Teatret. At the Royal Theatre, he played among others Higgins in My Fair Lady or the Argan in The Imaginary Invalid.
Holger Juul Hansen since 1947 also played numerous roles in film and later on television. He has appeared in three films of the Olsen Gang: as a driving instructor Larsen in The Olsen Gang strikes again (where it has been associated with the DEFA by Rolf Herricht ) and as Hallandsen in The Olsen Gang flying over the plank and The Olsen Gang flying over the mountains. His most famous role on Danish television was the bank manager Hans Christian Varnæs in the television series Matador. 1994 and 1997, he starred in two seasons of Lars von Trier's The Kingdom of the Einar Moersgaard, for which he was honored in each case the following year with the Bodil.
Hansen was married from 1952 with 20-year- old actress Else Marie Hansen. After the divorce in 1965 he married the same year the solo dancer Inge Olafsen (* 1945).
Holger Juul Hansen died on March 19, 2013 at the age of 88 years.
