History

Creation and Crisis in Utopia (2008 to 2010)

The band was founded in 2008 and was for a short time Sorcerer (English, Wizard '). James -Paul Luna, James J. LaRue and Tyler Meahl previously played together in the band White Wizzard, which they left in a dispute with band founder Jon Leon. A year later Holy Grail released the EP Improper Burial on CD and vinyl. While the vinyl version contains only two original compositions, can be found on the CD version plus two cover versions: Exciter by Judas Priest and Fast as a Shark by Accept. The cover of this publication comes from Ed Repka.

Holy Grail played their first concerts in autumn 2009 as the opening act at concerts of the bands Children of Bodom, Enforcer and 3 Inches of Blood. The latter accompanied the band in November and December on their U.S. tour. In April 2010, followed by a U.S. tour with Amon Amarth and Eluveitie or Týr. With Rise to Remain, the band played their first concerts in June in the United Kingdom, including at the Download Festival. As a result, the band signed in July 2010 a record deal with Prosthetic Records.

In August and September, followed by an appearance at the Wacken Open Air in Germany and participating in the March -of- Brutality tour of the U.S. and Canada with Exodus, Malevolent Creation and Bonded by Blood before released their debut album Crisis in Utopia in October been. Anna Murphy Meri Tadic of the Swiss band Eluveitie are represented on the album, with guest appearances. James J. LaRue left the band in late 2010 and was shortly thereafter replaced by former Bonded -by -Blood - guitarist Alex Lee.

Seasons Bleedings and Ride the Void ( since 2011 )

In February 2011, Holy Grail came as part of the tour to the album Everything Remains as It Never Was again Eluveitie as the opening act alongside 3 Inches of Blood in the U.S. and Canada, before they first completed a few concerts in the UK as headliners in March. In April and May, followed by the first headlining performances in the U.S. and Canada, Cauldron were there opening act. After another North American tour supporting Toxic Holocaust, the band released their second EP in December 2011 Seasons Bleedings.

During the year 2012, Holy Grail played at the Soundwave Festival in Australia and the South by Southwest festival in Texas. In addition, the band toured as support of DragonForce and Hell Yeah by North America. During the year, the band recorded their second studio album, Ride the Void, whose release is planned for January 2013. In Europe, the album will be released via Nuclear Blast.

Style

The band's roots lie in the heavy metal of the early 1980s. For this purpose, but can be found in some songs and modern elements of metalcore, so the band is comparable with Trivium, 3 Inches of Blood and Sanctity. The song lyrics are about death, terror and other for the typical metal themes.
