The normal route starts in lake house between Ruhpolding and Reit im Winkl. First, we follow a slightly ascending trail, which leads up through a small valley and past waterfalls to Branderalm. From there it goes on a narrow trail continues again through forest to a fork in the road where you have to decide. Either the left of the normal route over the Easter valley and the south side or right direction Hörndlalm, then on to Jägersteig, which is very exposed and the north ridge to the summit. Both are about equally long and meet just below the summit together again, which is reached after a total of 2.5 hours. From the top there is a beautiful view to the east, Staufen, the Berchtesgaden Alps and the Sonntagshorn, in the south the Dürrnbachhorn, the Lofer Steinberg mountains, the stone slab, and the Kaiser Mountains, west of the Geigelstein and Mangfallgebirge as well as in the north of Hochgern, the Chiemsee and the Hochfelln.
