Hošťka

Hošťka ( German Hesseldorf ) is a municipality with 415 inhabitants ( 1 January 2004) in the Czech Republic. It is situated in 558 m asl in the Upper Palatinate Forest ( Český les ) 6 km east of the border with Bavaria and belongs to the Okres Tachov on.

Geography

The place is located on the left side of the valley of the creek Kateřinský. Two kilometers south of the village held Dálnice 5 / Europe Straße 50, in the neighboring municipality Rozvadov there are two border crossings.

History

Hessel village was first mentioned in 1482 as Hosskowo. In 1939 the city had 1,071 inhabitants.

Community structure

The municipality Hošťka the district Žebráky heard ( Petlarn ). On Hošťkaer municipal area and the hallways of the abandoned villages after 1945 Žebrácký Zdar ( Petlarnbrand ) and Pořejov are ( Purschau ).
