Hranice (České Budějovice District)

Hranice ( German July grove, Czech to 1901: Julienhajn ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located seven kilometers south-west of the city Suchdol nad Lužnicí surrounded by forests in the source area of the river Tušť ( Schwarzbach ), an influx of Lainsitz.

History

The settlement July grove was created 1790-1791 by Johann Graf Bucquoy in the forests of the rule Gratzen, after this let dry dock at Schwarzenbach the bog. After the replacement of patrimonial regimes in Bohemia July grove belonged to Böhmdorf b. Gratzen ( Byňov ) and became independent in 1886. Gepfarrt was the village since its inception after Gratzen.

The Czech name Hranice u Nových HRADU was confirmed on November 30, 1901 as applicable in addition to the German designation Place name by the Home Office in Vienna and replaced the transcription Julienhajn previously used. The term Hranice ( German border) is because the place until 1920 was situated on the border between Bohemia and from 1918 Czechoslovakia and Austria.

The population was a mixture of languages ​​, the village was inhabited mostly Czech. Of the 553 inhabitants in 1913 were 378 171 Czechs and German.

On 1 July 1985 Hranice was incorporated into Novohradský simultaneously accounted for the additional u Nových HRADU as part of the official place name. Since November 24, 1990 Hranice is a municipality again.
