Hrušky (Vyškov District)

Hrušky ( German Birnbaum ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located four kilometers southwest of Slavkov and belongs to Okres Vyškov.

Geography

Hrušky is located in the northwestern foothills of the Steinitzer forest at the transition to Thaya Schwarza valley floor. The village is located below the confluence of the Rakovec on ​​the right bank of the Litava ( Leitha ). To the west rises the Pracký Kopec ( Pratzeberg, 324 m). North of Hrušky extend the railway lines from Brno to Přerov and Wlarapass, nearest railway stations are Křenovice horní nádrazí and Křenovice dolní nádrazí.

Neighboring towns are Křenovice in the north, Slavkov in the northeast, Vážany nad Litavou in the east, Nížkovice, Kobeřice u Brna and Milešovice the southeast, Otnice in the south, Šaratice, Kavriánov and Hostěrádky - Rešov the southwest, Zbysov in the west and Jiříkovice and Blažovice in northwest.

History

The first written mention of the village was carried out in 1294 as a possession of the Lords of Deblín.

2nd December 1805 found west of the village to the memorable battle instead. After the abolition of the patrimonial place belonged in 1850 to the political district Wischau. In 1921 the village was electrified. Between 1949 and 1960 Hrušky was part of Okres Austerlitz and came back to his resolution to Okres Vyškov. At the southeastern edge of Hrušky there are two fish ponds.
