Hude

Hude (Oldenburg ), officially Hude ( Oldb ), is a village between Oldenburg ( Oldb. ) and Bremen. It belongs to the district of Oldenburg in Lower Saxony and is one of the so-called Hude places.

Geography

The community lies on the edge of hilly Geest and is characterized by numerous streams and swampy terrain.

  • Highest terrain point: 31.5 m above mean sea level ( Hohenbökener way )
  • Lowest spot height: 0.2 m below sea level ( Hollersiel )

Municipality

The total area of the municipality is 124.6 km ², of which 9,290 ha are used for agriculture. The rest is woodland ( 1,146 ha) and built-up areas and road land ( 898 ha).

History

In 1232 Hude is first mentioned in the " Annales Cistercienses ", namely on the occasion of the establishment of the Cistercian monastery. 1536 the monastery was dissolved and the monastery buildings largely demolished, so that almost only ruins are present. The former Torkapelle remained; it is today's Elizabeth Church, parish of Hude. Also, the former abbot's house still exists; after use as a hunting lodge, it was manor.

1867, the railway Bremen -Oldenburg was opened and in 1873 the railway Hude - Nordenham.

Hude belonged until 31 December 2004 for the district of Weser -Ems, which was dissolved as a result of administrative reform with the same date.

In August 2009, Hude celebrated its 777 anniversary.

Incorporations

On 1 July 1972, the municipality Wüsting was incorporated as part of local government reform.

Structures

St. Elizabeth's Church

Today's Evangelical Lutheran St. Elizabeth's Church was built around 1300 as Torkapelle of the Cistercian monastery. The early Gothic brick building has been used since about 1548 as a Protestant parish church. There are wall paintings from the period and a pulpit from 1672 in it.

Hude Monastery

The monastery was founded by the Cistercian order in 1232. From the 13th century, built in the style of Brick Gothic plant parts of the formerly three-nave church in ruins and the Torkapelle ( now St. Elizabeth's Church ) and the abbot's house have been preserved.

Refinery and house Marienhude

In the southern part of Hude was in 1900 a refinery for production of gasoline, which was sold under the name Hudolin. The factory was the main plant of the Bremen company " Chemical Factories AG " and was until 1933 in operation. After shooting large parts of the factory were demolished and in its place houses. Remained of the factory is only 1905 built villa "House Marienhude " which was converted to a educational center for the community service under auspices of the Social Service Agency of the Protestant Church of Oldenburg after several other uses in 1986.

Sculptures shore

South of the village of Hude 45 sculptures are placed on a 1.4 -acre meadow parallel to Huder Bach outdoors. The Huder sculptures bank was opened on 31 May 1992. It is created in cooperation with the municipality of Hude, the Action Community for Hude and the sculptor Wolf E. Schultz, who lives in Hude since 1983. A precursor of the sculptures shore is the 1985 -scale sculpture.

Planet

From Hude from a planetary trail leads to Wüsting. It is created in a scale of 1:1 billion and is intended to illustrate the relative sizes of our solar system and make tangible. Therefore, the path length is about 6 km. The solar model consists of an Ariane -5 tank, the planets are represented on bronze plaques that line up along the path.

Sports

In the town you can be active in several clubs in many ways. The Turnverein Hude has 1895 eV even a group of wheelchair dancing

The number of agricultural holdings (as of 1995) is 323 of which reached more than a third of companies have a minimum size of 30 ha

Economic structure

In Hude the Amazons plants ( agricultural machinery ), as well as the company Labom are as large employers of national importance represented ( industrial measurement ). In addition, national importance, a number of smaller enterprises.

Subject to social security contributions at work

In total there are 2,678 in the municipality (as at 30 June 2005) to social security workers. Most are in energy, water, mining and manufacturing works ( 1542 ), while working in agriculture only about 100 employees.

Traffic

Hude is served by trains of the relations Oldenburg -Bremen and Nordenham -Bremen. Since December 12, 2010 Hude is connected with two lines to the network of S -Bahn Bremen. The connection of the hamlets take buses.

In the course of a schedule change Hude is also connected to the long distance network of Deutsche Bahn since 16 December 2013. The InterCity trains from / towards Bremen and Hannover hold since in Hude. A special feature of these ICs can be used without charge for customers of the transport association Bremen -Niedersachsen ( VBN ).
