The manga also appeared in English in VIZ Media, in French at Cana, in Spanish Grupo Editorial Vid and in Italian at Planet Manga. In Germany the series in BANZAI! Magazine of Carlsen Verlag was released. In addition, the story appears in anthologies of which were previously published in Germany 31. Because of the disruption of the manga in Japan, the series has been published since April 2008 in Germany instead of three monthly only every four months.
1999 produced the studio Nippon Animation an anime television series with 62 episodes to manga. This Kazuhiro Furuhashi directed, Takayuki Goto designed the character design and Nobuto Sakamoto took over the artistic direction. The series was aired from 16 October 1999 to 31 March 2001 on the Fuji TV station and later sent on Animax.
On 2 October 2011, started a remake of Hunter × Hunter on NTV. Meanwhile, it is not a simple reboot more because the story is already more than she was treated in the first TV series and the OVA series.
