Idrissa Sanou

Idrissa Sanou (born 12 June 1977) is a Burkinabe sprinter who specializes in the 100 -meter run.

He became French champion in the 100 -meter run in 2002. About the same distance he won at the Africa Athletics Championships 2002 in Radès the bronze medal and at the Track and Field Championships 2004 Africa in Brazzaville the silver medal. In 2005 he won at the Jeux de la Francophonie in Niamey.

Sanou took part in three Olympic Games. His best result was the arrival in the quarter-final round at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. In his five appearances at World Athletics Championships since 2001, he came only in 2005 in Helsinki beyond the first qualifying round.

Idrissa Sanou is 1,83 m tall and has a competition weight of 80 kg. His older brother Olivier Sanou was successful in the high jump and the triple jump.
