IFK Malmö

IFK Malmö is a Swedish sports club in Malmo. Companies are the sports athletics, football, handball, hockey, ice hockey, bandy, boxing, wrestling, swimming, orienteering, bowling and bridge. Due to the yellow shirts of the athletes, the club was nicknamed Di Gule ( in German: the yellow ).

The club was founded on 23 April 1899, was until 1903 a pure athletics club.

Football

Since 1903, it operates in the football club. Most of the players came from Malmö Velociped Klubb, which was dissolved shortly before. The team was one of the teams that played in the first season of Allsvenskan 1924. After yet the relegation had been done in the first season as a third- Last, the club in 1926 rose for the first time from out of the first division. Handball

Since 1929, there are women's handball at IFK Malmö and a few years later also a section for men was established.
