Ignatius Jerome Strecker

Ignatius Jerome Strecker ( born November 23, 1917 in Spearville, Kansas, USA; † 16 October 2003) was Archbishop of Kansas City.

Life

Ignatius Jerome Strecker received on December 19, 1942 by the Bishop of Wichita, Christian Herman Winkelmann, the sacrament of Holy Orders.

On April 7, 1962, he was named by Pope John XXIII. Bishop of Springfield - Cape Girardeau. The Archbishop of Kansas City, Edward Joseph Hunkeler, donated to him on 20 June of the same year the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were the Bishop of Kansas City -Saint Joseph, Charles Herman helmet Sing, and the Bishop of Dodge City, Marion Francis Forst. The inauguration took place on 28 June 1962.

On September 4, 1969, Pope Paul VI appointed him. Archbishop of Kansas City. The inauguration took place on 28 October of the same year.
