Iiro Tarkki

Iiro Tarkki ( born July 1, 1985 in Rauma ) is a Finnish professional ice hockey goaltender who is under contract with Linköpings HC Hockey Svenska ligands since November 2013. His brother Tuomas Tarkki is also a professional hockey player.

Career

Iiro Tarkki began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the junior department of Lukko Rauma, for the first team he made his debut, was in the 2004/05 season in the SM- liiga, the top Finnish league. In the period 2003-2006, however, the goalkeeper came as a member of the professional team of Lukko Rauma only a single use. Instead, he ran on the second-rate Mestis for the U20 Junior Lukko of the Jr. A SM- liiga, as well as Players out on loan for the Finnish U20 national team, Hermes Kokkola and Haukat. For the season 2006/ 07 he moved within the SM- liiga Jokerit to Lappeenranta, but was loaned out to SaPKo Savonllina from the Mestis in his first year with the new team. In the following two years he became the regular keeper for Jokerit of the breakthrough in professional hockey.

From 2009 to 2011 Tarkki entered for the Espoo Blues in the SM- liiga. He was then obliged by the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League, but for which he completed only one game. He spent the entire rest of the game, however as a goalkeeper for their farm team in Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League. For the 2012/13 season the Finn Salavat Yulaev Ufa of the Kontinental Hockey League was committed and completed for this club 53 KHL games. After a mixed season start Tarkki was released in October 2013, a month later, he was appointed at Linköpings HC of the Svenska Hockey ligands

Internationally

For Finland Tarkki participated in the 2010 World Cup, where he remained as a substitute goalkeeper without use. In addition, he was in the years 2009, 2010 and 2011 in the squad of his country at the Euro Hockey Tour.
