Ä°lyas Kahraman

Ilyas Kahraman ( born May 31, 1976 in Istanbul) is a Turkish football coach and former player.

Career

Association

Kahraman came as the son of immigrants from the Turkish Black Sea province of Trabzon in Istanbul on the world. At twelve, he took part in a youth - trial Galatasaray was then accepted by the association. Here he was already Karl -Heinz Feldkamp on in the season 1993/94, the then Kahraman was phased participate in the training of professionals. In the second half of the season 1994/95 Kahraman was then taken up by the head coach Reinhard Juicy in the first team squad and came to the end of the season in two league games for use. Under the new manager Graeme Souness to Kahraman established within the team and came in most games to inserts. Particularly striking he was in the second leg of the cup final against arch-rivals Fenerbahce. The Turkish Football Cup 1995/96, the final was in retrospect because of what happened after gameplay into one of the most famous games of the Intercontinental Derby, he managed the preparatory work for the 1:1 equalizing goal, which was achieved by the Welsh striker Dean Saunders. Since Galatasaray won 1-0 in the first leg already, you were cup winners. Kahraman received as a then 20- year-old high praise.

To the next season of Turkey coach Fatih Terim was presented at Galatasaray as the new head coach. Under this coach Kahraman got fewer matches, but was a key player in one of the most legendary games of the Turkish football history. In the Cup match between Gençlerbirligi Ankara and Istanbul Galatasaray ended the regular season 1-1. After the result did not change even in the extension, the encounter was decided on penalties. This penalty shoot developed into one of the longest in the history of football. Here succeeded a long time to make all penalty takers and to keep any of the two goalkeepers, Kubilay Aydın from Gençlerbirligi and Hayrettin Demirbaş Galatasaray a penalty. Thus the penalty shoot- developed up to a 16:16. Then Kahraman stepped up to 17 penalty for his team and missed. After then Osman Coşkun transformed for Gençlerbirligi, Galatasaray was eliminated. For the 1997/98 season Kahraman moved along with his teammates Alp Küçükvardar to league rivals Gaziantepspor. Here he established himself at once in the root formation. His team fought to the end of the season against relegation and finally was able to avert this. In the next season he enjoyed the confidence of the new head coach Hüseyin Kalpar and played in almost every league games with. His team finished the season in 7th place in the table. In the season 1999/2000 Kalpar left after two days Gaziantepspor and was replaced by Sakıp Özberk. Under this new coach Kahraman lost indeed his place, however, completed until the end of the season 14 league games. His team finished the season in third place, achieved the best finish in club history and qualified as for the UEFA Cup. In the new season Erdoğan Arıca took over as coach in Gaziantepspor. Under this coach Kahraman was only sporadic operations and was placed by him on the sale list.

So Kahraman joined in November 2000 within the League newly promoted Yimpas Yozgatspor and worked here back together with his old coach Hüseyin Kalpar. The season was finished in 7th place in the table and thus achieved the best placement of the club history. Kahraman completed while all the games of his team. In the next season he started at Yozgatspor, but switched after Kalpar had left the club, the winter break for league rivals Denizlispor. The change to this club came about because there his former coach Sakıp Özberk worked but it was replaced after three games Kahramans commitment by Riza Çalımbay. Kahraman but also enjoyed the support of this coach and had a regular place. With Denizlispor Kahraman finished the season 2001/ 02 on the 5th place in the table and thus qualified for the UEFA Cup in the 2002/03 season. Here they sat down in the 1st round against French side FC Lorient by. In the next few rounds you beat Sparta Prague surprising and Olympique Lyon and met in the second round to the subsequent UEFA Cup winners FC Porto. Against the then little-known Portuguese José Mourinho managed to lost the first leg in Porto 1:6. In the return leg on home turf you achieved a respectable 2:2, thus left out, however. Kahraman played in all eight games of the UEFA Cup season and was so at the second round participation of his club, which was the best depositing the club's history at the same time, share. In the league you missed the 10th place in the table reached a renewed participation in European competition. A few days before the end of season left Çalımbay Denizlispor and was replaced by Giray Bulak. Under this coach Kahraman lost his starting place, but still came as a reserve player for regular operations.

After the first round Kahraman had spent at Denizlispor 2003/ 04, he moved to the second round for the Liga rivals Malatyaspor. There he enjoyed from the beginning the confidence of his coach Mehmet Özdilek and quickly established itself as a service provider. After Malatyaspor was started with difficulties in the next season, many players left for the second half of the club. So also moved to second division side Bursaspor Kahraman. He left this club at end of season and hired the first division Diyarbakirspor. Here he was over the entire season to the starting eleven, but he left after we missed relegation the club.

After this we parted, he played a season for Antalyaspor and then moved to İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyespor. After one and a half seasons for this club, he signed on to the second division Boluspor. With this club he finished the season in third place and thus qualified for the playoff of TFF 1 Lig, in the third and last riser was determined. After they had missed the rise here, Kahraman moved within the league to Adanaspor. Even with this club finished the season in third Kahraman place in the table and missed the playoffs only in promotion to the Süper Lig

For the summer of 2009 he moved to the third division Eyüpspor and played here one and a half seasons, before he ended his football playing career in the winter of 2011.

National

Kahraman played during his time in the youth of Galatasaray Istanbul once for the Turkish U-16 national team.

Coaching career

Kahraman finished at third division Eyüpspor ahead of his career, after he had received the opportunity to serve the club as head coach. After disappointing results but he left after a few game days the club. In the summer of 2012, he began the first division Kasımpaşa Istanbul to work as a youth coach.
