Ilyushin Il-32

The Ilyushin Il -32 (Russian Ильюшин Ил -32) was a Soviet transport gliders manufacturer Ilyushin. It was developed and built in 1948 and tested in the same year in drag with an Il- 12D. The Il -32 had a launch mass of 8400 kg, which was, however, increased during the tests almost doubled. It was planned to carry this planned for seven -ton payload or 60 fully equipped soldiers with aircraft Il -18 and Tu- 4 to their Absetzorten.

The Il -32 was designed as a high-wing monoplane and had a rigid tricycle landing gear. The loading and unloading was carried out by a laterally -opening front hatch or a fold-down rear gate, which could be equipped to carry heavy equipment with ramps.

Due to the resulting large-capacity transporter that time use of gliders had become obsolete, which is why the model was not put into series production. Also planned as Il -34 motorized version remained only project.
