Iran women's national football team

The Iranian women 's national soccer team represents Iran in international women's football. The national team is subordinate to the Iranian Football Federation ( IRIFF ) and is coached by Shahrzad Mozafar. The team has so far never participate due to lack of qualification to the AFC Asian Cup and therefore does not even qualify for the World Championships and Olympic Games. According to the nickname of the Iranian national football team of men, Team Melli, the women's team Team Melli Zanan is called.

In Iran, women are allowed by law only play football if they wear a headscarf while. In addition, women's football in Iran will mostly take place in halls. 2006 in Tehran, the first football game of the Iranian women 's national soccer team in a stadium since the 1979 revolution instead. Opponent was the women's team of the Berlin club BSV Al- Dersimspor. The result of the match was 2:2. About the meeting of the documentary Football Under Cover arose. A return match was scheduled for 2007 in Berlin, however, the Iranian team called off.
