Irene Kwambai

Irene Kwambai Kipchumba (born 25 October 1978) is a Kenyan long-distance runner.

At the World Cross Country Championships 2000, she was eleventh. In 2004, she came at the World Cross Country Championships on the 34th place and won at the Cursa Bombers. At the Track - Africa Championships 2004, she won the silver medal in the 10,000 m.

In 2005 she was again at the World Cross Country Championships Eleventh and defended her title at the Cursa Bombers with the fastest 10-km time on Spanish soil. At the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki, it was about 10,000 m tithe.

The following year, she won the Humarathon over the half marathon distance at which they had been victorious in 2001, and the 15 km from Le Puy -en -Velay. In 2007, she took the 10,000 m bronze at the Pan-African Games in Algiers and triumphed at the Grand Prix of Prague.

Every second places at Singelloop Utrecht in 2008 and the Prague Half Marathon 2009 followed in 2010, a fourth place at the Prague Half Marathon and a third at the Hannover Marathon.
