Isabella Ochichi

Isabella Ochichi ( Isabella Bosibori Ochichi; born October 28, 1979 in Kisii, Nyanza Province) is a Kenyan long-distance runner.

At first she denied road races and was eighth in the World Half Marathon Championships 2001

In 2002, she won at the World Cross Country Championships bronze on the short distance, and the following year, she finished fourth. At the World Athletics Championships 2003 in Paris / Saint- Denis, they finished sixth in the 5000 -meter run.

In 2004 she was fifth on the short distance of the Cross Country World Cup, and in the road race Carlsbad 5000 she passed the 5 km in 14:53 minutes back, just two seconds slower than Paula Radcliffe in her former world best. At the Golden League meeting in Paris in 2004, she won the 3000 -meter run in 8:31-32 min, which simultaneously meant Weltjahresbestzeit.

At the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, she won the 5000m in 14:48,19 (ETH ) and before Dibaba (ETH ) min silver medal in the 5000 meters behind Meseret Defar.

In 2005 she was at the 2005 Cross Country Championships she finished third on the short - and fifth on the long haul and came at the World Championships in Helsinki over 5000 m to eighth place.

At the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, she won over 5000 m, and at the African Championships of the same year, she finished fourth in the 5000m and second in the 10,000 m.

Isabella Ochichi has a competition weight of 41 kg at a height of 1.52 m.
