ISCARS DASH Touring Series

The ISCAR's DASH Touring Series is an American racing series in the American Speed Association, which was used until the year 2003 by the NASCAR.

History

The series began unofficially in 1973 in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina. A crowd of racers started on a road course races to go. This line was owned by the former team owner Bill Ellis from the Grand National Series. As Ellis decided after a few races, not to operate the series continues, the driver founded the Baby Grand National Racing Association, Inc. ( BGNRA ). Next to the name the cars lean on in terms of paint to the Grand National. Charlie Triplett was appointed president. Originally, the series was held with 4-cylinder compact sedans. The motto of the BGNRA was " The Poor Man's Way to Race " (Eng.: The ability to racing for the poor man ). The BGNRA - founders turned to NASCAR in order to leave them there officially endorse series, this he succeeded in 1975 when the series officially began as a sanction of NASCAR. The series grew steadily, mainly because of the cheap cost of manufacturing cars and engines. It was not uncommon that 40 drivers took part in a race.

The five-time champion Dean Combs was in 1980 with the Datsun 200 SX, the first NASCAR driver, who finished regularly with a non- American brand one season. In the early 1980s, NASCAR altered the balance of power significantly by introducing the GM Iron Duke engine. The cost of a unit thus increased from 800 to 22,000 U.S. dollars. The significantly higher procurement costs meant that only ten to twelve teams were able to participate in a race. Once in the Busch Series, the six - cylinder models were to run, the 1998 NASCAR allowed except the previous 4-cylinder and 6- cylinder engines. Most crews opted for the 6 -cylinder drive. In October 2003, the series was sold to Brdaytona.

Currently, the ISCAR is under the possession of Randy Claypoole. In 2007, 5.1 liter V8 engines were prescribed in the regulations. This was done again to a reason to reduce the cost. On 8 February 2008, one death occurred during Speedweeks at Daytona. The security guard Roy Weaver was run over by Ray Paprota. Weaver was going to clean up the stretch of the rubble of a racing accident. For the rest of Speedweeks all flags were lowered to half mast.
