İslahiye is a city and the name of a district in the Turkish province of Gaziantep. In the city of 31 204 and 65 218 people live in the entire county (as of 2008 ). İslahiye located in the southwest of the province and borders the provinces of Hatay, Kilis, Osmaniye and Syria. In İslahiye there is a border crossing to Syria's Aleppo province. The border crossing is used by both freight trains as well as a weekly each pair of trains on the links Tehran - Damascus passenger van. By İslahiye was part of the Ottoman Baghdad Railway.

In addition to the main town in the district, there are four other small towns (tr: Belde ), 49 villages (tr: Koy ) and 15 hamlets (tr: Mezra ).

Attractions

About 20 km south of İslahiye is the Hittite sculpture workshop of Yesemek. Seven kilometers east lies the settlement mound Tilmen Höyük, where, among other things, a mittelhethitischer palace was excavated. About ten kilometers to the north, near the road to Nurdağı, located in the village Zincirli another archaeological site, the Citadel of the Late Hittite - Aramaean principality Sam'al.
