Issey Miyake

Issey Miyake (Japanese三 宅 一生, Miyake Issei, born April 22, 1938 in Hiroshima, Hiroshima Prefecture) is a Japanese fashion designer and founder of the eponymous fashion brand. Career

Miyake studied at the School of Art Tama graphic design in Tokyo. Even then, he put his focus in apparel design and not fashion. In 1963 he presented his first designs.
