J. T. Miller

Jonathan Tanner " J. T. " Miller ( born March 14, 1993, East Palestine, Ohio ) is an American professional ice hockey player who is since July 2011 with the New York Rangers in the National Hockey League under contract since August 2011 for the Plymouth Whalers in the Ontario Hockey League plays at the position of right winger.

Career

Miller first played for the Pittsburgh Hornets at youth level before joining in the summer of 2009, the youth development program of the U.S. Ice Hockey Federation USA Hockey, despite being in the OHL Priority Selection 2009 in the fifth round of 93 instead of the Plymouth Whalers of the Ontario Hockey League had been selected. There, the forward played in the next two years in both the U17 and U18 national teams as well as for another Association team in the United States Hockey League. Even after the 2009/10 season, Miller was there remained, even though he had been drawn in the USHL Draft in the 21st round of 302 instead of the Youngstown Phantoms.

After the season 2010/11 the next draft choice, as the attacker in the NHL Entry Draft, was selected in the first round in 15th place of the New York Rangers in the National Hockey League in 2011. The Rangers took Miller the same end of July 2011 under contract and beorderten him a few days later to the Plymouth Whalers in the OHL.

Internationally

Miller represented the United States for the first time at the World U -17 Hockey Challenge in 2010, where he won the gold medal with the team. At the same time he was together with the Finn Joel Armia, the Russian Alexander Chochlatschow and the Swede Mika Zibanejad top scorer of the competition. A new gold medal followed at the U18 World Youth Championship 2011. Twelve points scorer, the striker was involved as top scorer of the team instrumental. In the U20 Junior World Championship 2012, he finished seventh with the team.
