Jakub Kosecki ( born August 29, 1990 in Warsaw ) is a Polish footballer.

Career

Association

Jakub Kosecki came in 1990 in Warsaw, the son of soccer professionals Roman Kosecki to the world. He started to play football in the youth of the FC Nantes, where his father was at that time under contract. There were other stations in the youth departments of Montpellier HSC, Chicago Fire SC and Kosa Konstancin.

Then in the late summer of 2008 he came to Legia Warsaw, where he first went aground for the youth team in the Młoda Ekstraklasa. From the summer of 2009, he was part of the squad for the first team. On 4 December 2009 the 16th matchday of the 2009/10 season, he made his debut in the Ekstraklasa in the away game against Zagłębie Lubin ( 0:0 ) when he came on in the 80th minute for Marcin Mięciel. However, he came into the first team Legia in the 2009/10 season only two appearances and was named the 2010/11 season on loan at the then second division ŁKS Łódź. Here Kosecki was absolute top performer and was involved with its eleven goals in 28 games mainly because ŁKS Łódź, rising to become champion in the Ekstraklasa. However, after his return to Legia in the summer of 2011 it was again only the reserve player and he came in the first round in 2011/12 only to four inserts. So it was end of February 2012 on loan to the second half of 2011/12 to the league rivals Lechia Gdańsk. For Lechia he scored two goals in eight games and did very well. For the 2012/13 season he returned again to Legia Warsaw and was able to win a regular place in the team. In the first round in 2012/13 alone Kosecki scored seven goals in 14 games. This prompted Legia Warsaw in February 2013 the contract early by the end of June 2017 to extend.

National

From 2007 played Kosecki for selecting teams of the Polish Football Association (U -17, U -18, U -20). On 10 June 2010 Kosecki first played for the Polish U-21 national team in a friendly against Luxembourg (0-1).

Thanks to his strong performances Kosecki was appointed by the Polish national team coach Waldemar Fornalik, despite his limited experience to date (19 games in the Ekstraklasa and 7 goals) in the cadre of senior national team in December 2012. In the 4-1 win on December 14, 2012 in Antalya against Macedonia Kosecki then stood in the starting lineup.
