James Davis (athlete)

James Davis ( born March 19, 1976 in Champaign ) is an American sprinter who specializes in the 400 -meter run.

2000 and 2001 he was the U.S. indoor champion. At the IAAF World Indoor Championships in Lisbon in 2001 he reached the final, withdrew there but an injury in the hamstrings muscles and had to retire.

In 2003, he was the first leg of the U.S. team in the 4 x 400 - meter relay the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham. The U.S. quartet was in the cast Davis, Jerome Young, Milton Campbell and Tyree Washington one in the first place, but was later disqualified because Young admitted continuous doping for the period from 1999 to 2003 and therefore his former results were canceled.

2008 Davis came again to an international application in the 4 x 400 -meter relay at the World Indoor Championships in Valencia and won gold along with Jamaal Torrance, Greg Nixon and Kelly Willie.

James Davis studied at the University of Colorado and worked as a Data Integrity Analyst at Intrado company.
