James Olson (actor)

James Olson ( born October 8, 1930 in Evanston, Illinois ) is an American actor, whose acting career includes over 90 roles in productions for film and television. He was in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s by starring roles in movies such as The Love of a summer, Andromeda known - Deadly dust from space or Amityville II - The Possession.

Life and career

James Olson, born in 1930 in Evanston, Illinois, studied first at the local Northwestern University with the help of a four -year-old Edgar Bergen drama scholarship before he was discovered by producer Samuel Goldwyn for the theater in New York, and by him in 1956 a major role in production of his adventures sharks attack alongside Victor Mature and Karen Steele got.

From 1956 to Olson played in his over thirty year career in numerous plays, television series and feature films.

1968 gave him the actor and director Paul Newman in his romantic drama film The Love of a summer the male lead role opposite Joanne Woodward.

In 1971 he was engaged by the director Robert Wise for the role of Dr. Mark Hall in his adapted from best-selling author Michael Crichton science fiction novel, Andromeda, Arthur Hill and David Wayne.

Other important roles he played in the 1980s in the horror film sequel Amityville II - The Possession and in the action film phantom command from 1985 with Arnold Schwarzenegger, where he embodied the General Franklin Kirby.

His last guest star appearance had Olson in the U.S. detective series Murder, She Wrote in 1990.
