Jamie Storr

Jamie Storr ( born December 28, 1975 in Brampton, Ontario ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender. Since January 2010, he stands as a standby player for the DEG Metro Stars in the German Ice Hockey League contract.

Career

Jamie Storr was pulled by the Los Angeles Kings in the NHL Entry Draft in 1994 in the first round in seventh place. He played the 1994/95 season mainly in the unterklassigen OHL, but came in January 1995, his first appearance in the NHL, the same year, four more followed. Over the next two seasons of the goalkeeper stood both in the IHL with the Phoenix Roadrunners, whose number 1 he was, and with the Los Angeles Kings in the NHL on the ice and there was a total of ten missions. In the 1997/98 season Jamie Storr remained, with minor exceptions, throughout the NHL squad and guarded 17 times the Gate of Kings. The following season, the Canadians already came to 28 games before he even came in the 1999 /00 in more than half of the games available for use. However, Storr was not finally prevail against the number one Stéphane Fiset. Only when Fiset in the 2000 /01 season drew upon twice a knee injury, Storr was goalkeeper. At the beginning of the next season, Félix Potvin was able to prevail as the goalkeeper, allowing Jamie Storr again had to act as back-up.

At the beginning of the 2003/ 04 led Storrs way in the Russian Hockey League for Avangard Omsk, but he never played there and signed a month later, a one-year contract with the Carolina Hurricanes of the NHL. But here the goalie could not permanently prevail and played a total of only 14 times. After the season, his contract was not renewed. In May 2004, Jamie Storr gave the Adler Mannheim of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga, the commitment to move to Germany. However, he signed a contract with the eagles but changed after some time to the Springfield Falcons in the AHL. During the season of Canadians signed a contract with the Premier League rivals Utah Grizzlies. The 2005/06 season completed Storr also in the American Hockey League, this time as a second goalkeeper of the Philadelphia Phantoms.

Since the season 2006/2007 Jamie Storr played in the DEL for the DEG Metro Stars, where he initially signed a contract for one year. After a short settling time the goalkeeper was due to its sometimes spectacular parades, especially with the catching glove, a crowd favorite at the Rhine countries. Storrs contract was extended to 2009 in December 2006. In February 2007, the Canadians of coaches, managers, experts and journalists in Germany was elected keeper of the season 2006/ 07.

On 13 May 2009, the DEG Metro Stars announced that Jamie Storr has ended for personal reasons his professional career with immediate effect.

On 31 January 2010, the DEG Metro Stars announced the renewed commitment by Jamie Storr Goalie as a standby. It is to be used, if both goalkeeper DEG Metro Stars, Jean -Sébastien Aubin and Etienne Renkewitz should hurt.
