Jan Veselý

Mr Vesely ( born April 24, 1990 in Ostrava ) is a Czech professional basketball player. It has a height of 2.13 m and is variable in the frontcourt used.

Career

Vesely began his professional career in Slovenia at KK Geoplin Slovan before he moved to Serbia to KK Partizan Belgrade 2008. After he had reached with Partizan the Final Four of the Euro League, Vesely was awarded the 2010 FIBA Europe Player Of The Year Award for the best European players under 22 years.

In NBA Draft 2011, he was selected sixth by the Washington Wizards. While he was in his time in Europe mostly held the position of small forward, he usually plays with the Wizards in his debut season as a power forward and occasionally on the center position.

His NBA debut was on 8 January 2012 at the home game against the Minnesota Timberwolves in the away game against the Houston Rockets, he was 27 January 2012 for the first time in the starting five and contributed five points, six rebounds and three steals in. On 12 February 2012, he scored in the game against the Detroit Pistons first two digits as he scored off the bench coming ten points, eight rebounds and three blocks. His first double -double was followed on 8 April 2012 in the away game against the Charlotte Bobcats with 11 points and 11 rebounds and 2 blocks and 2 assists.

On February 20, 2014 Vesely was transferred as part of a three - team swap with the Denver Nuggets.
